Charting Geologic Time
The work in this series explored geologic transformation due to climate change. Cartographic and geometric planes are elevated by marine shells and architectural forms. Materials consist of weathered glass collected from the shores of the Pacific Northwest Coast and bronze, both cast and fabricated. Concepts of significance are symbolized by tea bowls, lotus petals, lines of latitude and longitude, a stratification chart, and an atomic compass. Time is of the essence.
